Bellas Artes School of Music

We believe that learning to play music is not just about acquiring the mastery of an instrument but about enlarging the soul to see beauty and cultivating a virtue and depth of character commensurate with that beauty. This is a journey that we embarked upon when we were children, because someone believed in us and gave us an opportunity. And so now in turn, we absolutely love the fact that we are getting to invite others to join us as well in this pilgrimage. Because we view teaching as mentorship, not simply the transferral of information, we place high priority on relationship with our students and their families. We believe in our students and take great joy in seeing them discover that they can do things they never knew they could do before.

Due to a move we are not continuing- we wish we could take the school with us, but we know the skills he has acquired with the help of BA will stay with him for a lifetime.
Recitals at the end of each semester among student performers of all ages and a variety of instruments at all skill levels is a wonderful experience for all families.
All of the staff at BA are very supportive and my daughter (violin) has had some great experiences working with some of the other teachers as accompanist during recitals and competitions.
My oldest was Justin's first student in Glen Ellyn; he's now in college studying engineering and music, a combination of interests that his teachers at Bellas Artes fostered and encouraged.
The teachers at Bellas Artes are very talented, experienced and great with kids.
The teachers truly individualize instruction to meet the needs of their students.
I was never fully satisfied with their piano teachers (they had 2 different teachers over about 7 years) - I thought it was because I was just a picky parent, so I just went along since they seemed to be doing ok and learning well.
He’s been able to participate in two recitals and the Illinois Music Association competition this year, as well - all of which were great experiences for him.
Both of my boys regularly sit down at the piano at home and with their friends to play their favorites from memory.
Our daughter has made such progress with Ms.
