Max schooling Piaffe and Passage before he was sold. The first video is earlier in his Piaffe training. This video shows that the horse is relaxed and rhythmic, and that he is willing to lift and lighten his fore-hand while using his hind quarters to accept increased weight. At this stage, lightness, energy and rhythm should be prioritized over being "on the spot". The second video shows his developing passage and transitions into and out of Piaffe. Ellie is an expert with humans and horses which makes me, an amateur, feel like I really can help with my Friesian fillies trainings!
We found out my mare would not load and Ellie taught Belle to load and stop being afraid, so I had no problem loading her in an emergency during fire season.
I feel she is really teaching me how to ride even though I have been a equestrian myself for several years.
Ellie provides a safe, nurturing environment to both the horse and the child- while increasing the challenges, responsibilities and expectations of the rider in a fun and supportive way.
While our on-going goals with Ellie center around Dressage, the skills we learn easily transfer to our western pleasure horses and she has helped us with our Working Equitation discipline.
My horse Rio is one for the dramatics and I whole heartedly believe that without Ellie’s calm demeanor and teachings we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Ellie is an extremely patient and intuitive teacher, and seems to know exactly what my daughter needs in each moment.
My mare has a new attitude with this compassionate approach to bring out the best in both horse and rider and she actually seems to enjoy her work now.
Apart from Ellie Brown's excellent riding and training skills, she is one of the most likable, lovely, gracious and kind human beings I have had the honor of knowing and whom I will always call friend.
