Rita is the Artistic Director of the Academy Players of RI. Rita took over the failing theatre in 2011, and has reinvented the company, bringing it to a higher standard of community theatre in RI. Now celebrating its 69th season, the Academy Players is an award-winning theatre that not only puts on performances all year round, it always gives back to the community with each production. Academy Players of RI is a theatre company for all ages! In addition to performances, Academy Players also offers educational classes (voice/dance/theatre) and workshops (ex. Krysta Rodriguez, Jason Robert Brown, Ned Ginsburg). Rita grew up in North Providence, RI and studied dance with the Rhode Island State Ballet, Myles Marsden Dance Company, and the Modern Jazz Dance Company with Elaine Colaneri....
