As more and more people flock to yoga for the touted health benefits, you may have noticed that the shapes and movements you were taught in teacher training don’t seem to be working for everyone who steps into your class. Do your cues work for many types of bodies? Do you offer props and variations without even thinking about it? Do you teach a challenging pose without leaving those who can’t or who don’t want to do it sitting and watching and feeling left out or defeated? Does your language empower your students?
