These pictures were taken about 20 years apart. I always hear people say things like “I can’t do what I did in my 20s” or “we can’t expect things to look they did in our 20s.” I can’t relate to this. I spent my 20s trapped inside a body that limited me from climbing small hills. In my 40s I climb mountains. In my 20s, I felt I had no control over food. In my 40s, I still appreciate tasty treats but I also appreciate how healthy food nourishes my body AND how it affects my mood. In my 20s, the thought of climbing to 12,392 feet to see one of the most beautiful blue lakes on which Ive ever laid eyes felt impossible and, honestly, completely unappealing. In my 40s, (as pictured on the right) I did it…easily actually!! Yes, age does take its toll eventually. BUT that doesn’t mean our best years are behind us. We can always grow and change. And we should!! I look at my life as a wonderful opportunity to experience evolution of self each and every day until I take my last breath and to inspire others every step of the way! Where are you located?

We are located two hours northwest of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Our physical address is 639 Whispering Hills Road Boone, North Carolina, 28607

What is your cancellation policy?

For room reservations, Ayurveda Wellness Retreats, and Art of Living Retreat Center (AOLRC) signature retreats, we have the following cancellation policy:Refunds are available (less a $50 processing fee) up to eight days before your program or stay. Nonrefundable credit toward a future AOLRC program or stay (less a $50 processing fee) is available if you give notice between seven and one day(s) before your program or stay. Credit may be applied to any AOLRC program or stay for one year following date of issue. No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the arrival day, if you do not show up, or if you leave an event early for any reason. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content. AOLRC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. If AOLRC cancels a program, you will receive a full refund. Some programs may have special cancellation policies; see individual workshop descriptions. For all other retreats, please be sure to check the registration page specific to that retreat.

Do you have air conditioning?

No. Due to the cool climate of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we have found that air conditioning is unnecessary. All rooms are equipped with ceiling and box fans, just in case.
