FAQs
What happens during a voice lesson?
First, we will focus on the fundamentals of proper technique: posture, breathing and vowel shaping. These elements will be reinforced with powerful vocal exercises, including scales to both determine your vocal range, and to get an indication of your pitch accuracy. The second part of the lesson is spent applying the fundamentals to a song of your choice (with an instrumental available on YouTube)
If I am not able to match pitch (tone deaf), can I still take singing lessons?
Yes. There are Visual Feedback exercises and techniques to help students who want to learn how to match pitch "feel" the processes required to navigate pitch vocally.
Do you help with auditions/solo competitions/performance?
Most definitely. Carmen Jones helps students pick out appropriate selections for all their competitions, shows, and auditions. As an active performer, Carmen Jones is dedicated to helping his students achieve their performing goals.
