FAQs
I have no experience, can beginners train?
Most people arrive with little to no experience and feel right at home in our classes. We adjust our instruction to meet your needs. All skill levels are welcome, and we provide quality instruction in a fun, safe environment.
Is this for me?
Yes! Martial arts is an excellent way to get in shape, increase your level of physical and mental conditioning, and loose a few pounds! We all train together, but everyone works at his or her own level.
Is this full-contact and will I get hurt?
We do not allow full-contact sparring between students. As with all types of physical sport, there is risk of injury. However, with close instructor supervision and small class sizes, injury is extremely rare.
What style of martial art do you teach?
We teach traditional Okinawan Karate, specifically, Okinawan Shorin-ryu Seibukan Karate. You will learn in the same manner as if you were visiting the headquarters training facility on Okinawa. We supplement a well-tested karate curriculum with contemporary principles of core strength and flexibility training.
