As a female it’s sometimes hard to find places where you feel accepted, Team Roc makes everyone feel welcome :)
I’ve trained in 3 countries and 3 states and Team Roc is definitely up there in my opinion as Elite, whether you’re a ranked fighter or a day one martial artist or anywhere in between.
The fundamental and advanced classes are full of great instructors who are seasoned and very well versed if you plan on learning for competition or just self defense and fitness.
I am specially impressed by how good of an instructor coach Isaiah Monroe is to kids, the patience he has and the ability to explain things to little kids is amazing.
I explained to all the coaches what my situation was and how long I would be attending.
I was never put against some [theoretical] meathead with a chip on his shoulder who would try to take my head off; pretty much all of my training was controlled, even when I got smashed.
I started off completely new to it all, after maybe 3 weeks I had a basic understanding of guards and mounts, and fell in love.
