After noticing the effect of virtual learning on students' academic progress in her community, she wanted to use her background in education to help close this gap between student achievement and grade-level expectations. Since she has a large network of teachers, she thought they would be the best option for helping the students catch up. In June 2021, she opened her business Teachers As Tutors to connect those teachers with families needing support.
