Sweetbay Yoga
Iyengar Yoga, developed by BKS Iyengar and his family in India, is an alignment-based practice that uses props to ensure students both get the full benefit of the asanas (poses) and also prevent injuries. Iyengar Yoga is accessible to all students, regardless of age and even many infirmities. The teaching and sequencing is systematic and precise, helping students achieve incredible physical benefits, such as greater flexibility, strength, and stamina, as well as a focus and quiet in their practice.

Lovely studio!!
Hands down the very best Iyengar teachers, all levels of experience, a wonderful new studio in downtown Bethesda, Sweetbay Yoga is one of my happy places.
I came in stressed and achy after a tense day at the keyboard.
Wonderful instructors and owner!
I’d been a bit nervous to try it (and let’s be honest wake up early) so last week’s class at 10:30 was the perfect time to try.
This studio has made such a difference in my life, it's hard to condense into a review - but I cannot recommend it highly enough, whether you are a beginner or experienced yoga enthusiast.
But what sets it apart is her effort to build community and pull people together -- badly needed in today's rushed and sometimes disparate urban world.
Experienced instructors know what they're doing and a great community of people.
I'd been working at a particular pose for years, but it wasn't until I came to Sweetbay that I got the guidance and confidence to fully commit to it.
It’s also one of the few in the area that focuses on real yoga instruction and not the aerobic version that isn’t really yoga.
