Thank you for your interest in piano lessons! I am a nontraditional piano teacher offering lessons to adults and children ages 7+ in the Virginia Village neighborhood of Denver (near S. Holly and Florida Streets). I use a research-based curriculum that makes for a very different kind of piano lesson than what most people expect. Because we, as humans, learn music similarly to the way we learn our native language, all of my students begin by developing musical listening, "speaking," and thinking vocabularies before they are taught to read and write music. And in some ways better than in person as we both can be seated at our pianos and she can demonstrate a technique without us having to get up and switch places.
I look forward to my weekly lessons, not just for the growth and satisfaction, but enjoying the satisfying and easygoing teacher/student relationship that I have with Rebecca.
I live 1400 miles from Rebecca yet four years ago when I started lessons with her I immediately began to learn a variety of music including blues, classical, accompaniment and jazz.
Rebecca is an extraordinary piano teacher and we feel so fortunate that our son has been able to learn and grow under her kind and inspired teaching.
Gone are the days where you are forced to crank out scales and learn classical music you don't want to play, let alone practice every week.
Rebecca's gift of music is amazing and my daughter and I are blessed to have her as our piano instructor
She has been practicing under Rebecca's tutelage for only about 6 months and she already has an impressive repertoire of songs that she can enjoy playing at a moments' notice.
