Philadelphia Piano Institute

Erika Gingery, director of education and co-founder of the Institute, is a classically trained pianist and teacher. She is a former faculty member at Settlement Music School in Queen Village, and she also taught at the Germantown and Wynnewood branches of Settlement in addition to Music Training Center in Ardmore, PA. She studied piano for 19 years, studied voice for 6 years, and graduated with a master's degree in piano pedagogy from Texas Christian University under international performing artist Harold Martina and pedagogue Dr. Ann Gipson. She's enjoyed teaching private lessons and group classes to children, high schoolers, and adults, and as a result, she believes the piano can enrich anyone's life, from elementary school students to busy professionals.

Sentiment Analysis
I would often have to have a concept or technique explained to me several times to really understand, but James always finds a way to get it through to me.
The Institute offered a spring recital opportunity that my younger child decided to participate in that she really enjoyed, but Jaime was equally supportive when my other child preferred not to perform in front of an audience.
Both ladies have been great, she enjoys lessons with the both of them, stating they are welcoming, patient and encouraging!
Stefanie was great at working with me to figure out where I should start (as an adult who took classes ages ago).
I haven’t sang in quite some time and wanted to take lessons to get back into it.
With more than two decades of experience playing the piano myself, I was able to build connections via questions and learned much that was missing knowledge to me.
He is very patient with them and helping them build a good foundation to grow from.
He is a master of the piano and there is a wealth of knowledge to be learned from him, but more importantly, he teaches and inspires a passion for music that was most important and foundational for my journey with the piano.
She really enjoyed working with him and learned and grew a lot during that time.
James is very patient to his young pupil and my kid always love to hang around with him during each lesson.
