Modernize My Fight is not a traditional Martial Arts studio. We teach Tier 1 Civilian Combatives. Unlike Martial Arts we focus on gross motor skill striking in close quarter combat (CQC). CQC is the type of fighting that you will typically encounter during attacks on the street, school yard, or from sexual assault. Our fight ethic is that we train to protect ourselves, our family, our friends, and those that cannot protect themselves. Combatives, unlike Martial Arts and Combat sports, focuses on the mental and emotional tool kit required to recognize pre-threat cues that danger is imminent. Once the threat is recognized safe escape is possible.

Coach Ari teaches my kids strategies how to defend and attack in a fight.
This place is the real deal for adults and kids, the people are welcoming and friendly.
Having worked as a bodyguard for many people who had previously been attacked, these people would have done and paid anything to have the training Ari provides.
He said he wanted to create a Dojo that was a place where students would focus on how to be street safe, learn to overcome their fears quickly and become victorious over street violence.
Coach Ari gives one on one attention and does not give up until you do your best.
Ari is exceptional at understanding the needs of his students and is passionate about what he does.
), this class gets right to teaching about being out and about in threatening street situations, how to avoid, how to fight, what exactly to do, how to manage “fright or fight” and how to buy time until rescue comes.
I know the school is serious business but I look forward to every session.
A great place to learn self defense along with private lessons.
The coaches take the time to motivate me and make sure my form is correct so I do not injury myself.
