Guitar Lessons by Steve Anthes

Hi I'm Steve Anthes and I teach guitar lessons in Madison, WI. Teaching guitar has been my career for over fifteen years now. In those years I have developed many great techniques for both the beginner, intermediate, and advanced player. The longer I teach the more I recognize what works and what doesn't. Having clear instruction for the beginner will help get results faster. Beginners who teach themselves don't place enough emphasis on the physical side of playing! If you're an intermediate player you may not know exactly how to proceed further on your own. This is something I deal with all the time and can help you get back on track. Helping advanced players is a bit different in that I need to sit with them to understand where they are and what they are looking for. No matter what...

Sentiment Analysis
The past 18 months I have learned more from Steve than I did in those years reading tab and watching videos.
At my first lesson with Steve, he identified ways to improve my chord transitions, posture, pick use.
Coming in after trying to self teach for a year showed me how useful a teacher like Steve is to progress quickly in a meaningful way.
Steve paid attention to my posture, my style and my skill level; he crafted every time a lesson with different topics and material so I could learn new things and stay engaged at the same time.
This is the difference between him and any other place that teaches guitar, is he genuinely cares for his students by working at their pace.
Learning from Steve has been a great experience and I would encourage anyone thinking about learning guitar to give him a call.
He uses a wide variety of materials and techniques to help students learn new skills including the critical fundamentals.
His ability to listen to a song and quickly be able to get me to state where I am playing along with it always astounds me.
I now live out of state and continue to take lessons, play the guitar and have progressed to finger picking and playing with a group on Sundays.
I’ve learned music theory, technique, improvisation, and how to make the most of my practice time.
