At FMAC, we focus on traditional Korean martial arts: Taekwondo, Hapkido and Kumdo. Taekwondo emphasizes fast and powerful kicking techniques. Hapkido, Korean form of self-defense, uses locks, grappling, throwing, kicks, punches and weapons. Kumdo encompasses Korean swordsmanship. We provide classes tailored to all ages and levels focusing on small group and attention to individual instruction.

After becoming black belts their curriculum has changed drastically, focusing on self-defense, weaponry, advanced board breaking, and leadership.
For example, there is an exercise called Hurigi (one step head cut) that you do in repetitive quick succession (like a forward jumping jack with a juk-to head strike).
The kids have a lot of fun and are progressing well here.
Monica, the owners, have been able to teach Taekwondo with integrity and dedication in a disciplined, respectful and skillful way, and yet making it fun for younger kids.
