The playwriting cohort is led by David Lindsay-Abaire, a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, screenwriter, lyricist and librettist. His most recent work, a musical adaptation of his play Kimberly Akimbo with composer Jeanine Tesori, transferred to Broadway in November 2022 after an off Broadway run at Atlantic Theater Company. He is also, along with Tanya Barfield, Co-Director of the Playwriting Program at the Juilliard School. You can read more about David Lindsay-Abaire here.

Sentiment Analysis
I especially enjoy the Talk Back sessions with the opportunity to meet the actors and sometimes authors of the plays.
Paired with their intimate performance space; outstanding set design, lighting, and sound; and direction, Cadence's offerings can't be beat.
They select the finest, most thought-provoking productions, and they are always perfectly cast.
They were able to engage and inspire creativity in students during the pandemic through creative contests in film, songwriting & more, Kdents TV and 4th Wall.
Great theater that provokes interesting dialogue on today’s issues with friends after the show!
Their training camps for youth, fellowships for new playwrights, and award-winning productions are consistently top notch.
Cadence Theatre Company produces some of the most interesting and beautiful theatre in Richmond.
A few of my all-time favorites include "Caroline or Change", "Good People", "The Mountaintop", "Gloria", "In My Chair" and many more.
Also… they have a You Tube channel for young artists called Kdents TV and it’s definitely worth looking into.
They do amazing work!
