Yes! I love pop music of all kinds, and it's where I've spent most of my professional life as a musician. Most piano teachers out there either teach only classical, or only jazz. Both of those are really wonderful, deep traditions, but they each follow a method that specifically leads to either playing Beethoven sonatas (which are awesome, don't get me wrong), or comping and soloing in a bebop combo (also completely awesome). If you're more looking how to rock, though, or write songs, or play any kind of pop that's not specifically bebop, you have come to the right place.

Sentiment Analysis
David worked with our kindergartner for the better part of a year, and we're very happy with the results.
David Ames is an inspiring, competent, and compassionate teacher who attends to the vital aspects of piano study while maintaining a flexible attitude about the learning process.
David is extremely engaging and we are so happy that her first experience with music lessons has been with such a great teacher.
He spends time getting to know your goals and puts a lot of thought into selecting music, which I really appreciate.
Beyond being a phenomenal pianist, David is always able to answer any musical theory question I throw at him, and even take a song I tell him I want to learn and immediately being able to play along with it from my phone's speaker.
